Platrace is an AI-powered video analytics software platform developed by Artif4ct, leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision to enhance urban and road safety.
The system analyzes IP camera streams, identifies vehicles and other objects within the scene, recognizes license plates, and associates each detection with information such as vehicle type, make, model, color, direction of travel, camera location, and timestamp.
This data is transformed into structured, searchable information through a centralized dashboard, significantly reducing the need to manually review hours of video footage.
Born from an entirely Italian project by Artif4ct, Platrace is a practical, intelligent and scalable solution for tackling urban and road security challenges in a modern, automated way. Unlike conventional video surveillance systems, it was designed to turn any network camera into a smart tool that collects, processes and returns detailed real-time information about vehicles and their surroundings.

Classification of supported vehicle categories, including cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and commercial vehicles. Platrace can distinguish between eleven different vehicle types.
Vehicle make and model classification provides additional search criteria for identifying and filtering vehicle movements. Our proprietary AI model recognizes more than 2,500 vehicle models and over 270 manufacturers.
Vehicle orientation and direction of travel are associated with each detection event, providing valuable insights into vehicle movements.
Detected vehicle colors are indexed to help narrow down searches, even when the license plate is unknown. Color detection also applies to clothing worn by detected individuals.
Detection of additional supported objects and road users, depending on the system configuration, providing a more comprehensive understanding of the monitored environment.

Platrace integrates automatic license plate recognition, but goes far beyond traditional LPR or ANPR systems.
Each detected license plate can be associated with additional vehicle information, enabling advanced searches even when the complete license plate number is unknown.
When a vehicle is detected by multiple cameras, Platrace allows operators to visualize the available detections on a geographic map, supporting the reconstruction of its movements throughout the surveillance network.
Platrace can automatically generate notifications whenever a configured condition is detected, eliminating the need for operators to continuously monitor every camera in the network.
With powerful data analytics tools, Platrace provides detailed reports and valuable insights to support road infrastructure planning, traffic analysis, and continuous improvement.

The Persons module records information about the clothing worn by individuals detected across cameras managed by Platrace.
Operators can apply filters to search for people wearing specific clothing items and colors. The system can also identify accessories such as glasses, handbags, hats, and more.
The system assists camera installers by providing 24/7 feedback on camera status and performance.
It also offers straightforward guides and a dedicated interface to help users manage, operate, and maintain the service efficiently.
